This will be the longest list. I will look to watch 250 films before the deadline. My rational for this is that movies are way shorter than books or video games and there are just so many films I should see.
I should preface that I am a big movie watcher. I worked at a movie theatre at the age of sixteen and spent many summers watching everything that came out. But seeing as that was during a cinematic low point I missed many classic films and have not suffered through many famous flops.
This list contains the good with the bad. I choose to include the top 10 and the bottom 10 from IMDBs top/bottoms list as a starter for 10. Then I added films that I have heard to be good, know to be important and others that I have heard I will need therapy after because of the scars they will leave on my psyche ( I am look at you Baby Geniuses )
While I have a good number to start with I would love some suggestions. Tell me the films that stuck with you throughout your life. The movie that makes you laugh every time, makes you cry, scares you shitless or that is so bad you love it all the more. Post it in the comments and I might add it to The List.
See you at the pictures kiddos.

Just the most important or influential? They are mostly older than what’s on your list, because I am 😀 Also, you have little in the way of foreign films. I expect your typos were unintended (It’s Citizen Kane, and The Shining lol). Here are a few adds:
International – The Seven Samurai (1954), Persona (1966), Alexander Nevsky (1938), M (1931), La Règle du Jeu (1939)
British – The Man in the White Suit (1951), Hobson’s Choice (1954), Great Expectations (1948), Scrooge aka Christmas Carol (1951)
Silent – Metropolis (1927), The Gold Rush (1925), The Golem (1920)
US faves by directors already on your list: Vertigo, North by Northwest, Dr. Strangelove, Saving Private Ryan, Ed Wood, Big Fish, Fantasia, Touch of Evil, Adventures of Robin Hood, Memento, Inception, Dawn of the Dead (the 1978 original), Kill Bill (pts 1 and 2 – two films).
So bad it’s good movies – White Comanche (Shatner times 2), Robot Monster, Plan 9 from Outer Space, Glen or Glenda?, Reefer Madness, Eegah!, Mommie Dearest, Rat Pfink a Boo Boo

Black Book – I think It’s from Holland , it stars Carice Van Houren where she plays a young Jewish girl in WW2 in occupied Holland and it such a great movie with a powerful performance !
